"I wanted to let you know how I was doing. I broke up with my boyfriend, because he made me feel too grown up. I'm trying to patch things up with my friends and parents, AND I feel better about my body. I am a lot more self-confident. I’m using my voice now, and I feel so much better about myself. Thank you!

SAW reaches young people in a way traditional therapy doesn’t.
It finds the root cause of the feeling, problem, and pain and removes it. SAW’s safe and experiential environment allows and encourages the teen to cry, express fear, and release anger in responsible ways. The result of the work in SAW is that the self-defeating beliefs such as: "I don’t matter, I am not good enough, I can’t trust anyone, no one cares," are removed. It is these beliefs are causing the self-defeating patterns that so negatively affecting the life of the teen and those around him/her. Remove the negative belief and the feeling that goes with it, and you remove the self-defeating pattern.
A report about helping teens says: “understand why their behaviors are negative and teach them to cope better.” We disagree! Our approach is to remove the cause of the pain and change the negative beliefs and thoughts to self-enhancing beliefs and thoughts!
Teens, especially, respond to groups. The group setting at SAW gives them a sense of personal power they’ve probably never experienced, which can instantly eliminate the power struggles that so many teens and their families experience. Through SAW, teens discover a new-found respect for others that translates to happier teens and improved family relationships when they return home. As a result, they re-engage in life and perform better in school.
If you are a teen/young adult who feels lost and misunderstood,
and/or a frustrated and concerned parent, we KNOW we can help you.
Under certain circumstances, a parent may attend SAW with their teenager.
"Yes! I am more motivated! You both really know what you are doing! I believe SAW really helped my dad and me."
